Thank you for visiting the Corpus Tempus Exhibition. You are invited to share your views and talk with us about the exhibition. Please read through the information and consent before proceeding. You may then complete the 5-10 minute survey and leave your contact details for a follow-up phone interview.
What is the purpose of this study?
The evaluation aims to explore how people who visit the Corpus Tempus exhibition respond to and reflect on their perceptions of health and disease through the viewing of collated works.
How is the study being funded?
This is a collaborative project between the School of Creative Arts and Media, and the Tasmanian School of Medicine, University of Tasmania, University Cultural Collections, COMA (Collection of Medical Artefacts) Tasmania, and the Plimsoll Gallery, with the assistance of Rachael Rose (Fine Art Collection), Neil Apted (John Elliot Classics Museum), Wendy Rimon and Heather Excell (Special and Rare Collections), and Elizabeth Bondfield and Dr Philip Thomson (COMA). The project has not received external funding.

Participant Information
You are invited to take part in this study because you attended the opening on the 27th of August and /or visited the exhibition between Saturday 28 August - Saturday 8th October 2021.
- Your participation is voluntary, and your choice to take part or not take part will not affect your contribution to the event or any future events.
- You may withdraw at any time, and this will have no effect on your contribution to the event or any future events.
What is the purpose of this study?
- The evaluation aims to explore how people who visit the Corpus Tempus exhibition respond to and reflect on their perceptions of health and disease through the viewing of collated works
What will I be asked to do?
- Complete an online 9 item questionnaire and one-to-one phone interview by leaving your contact details at the end of this online questionnaire.
- The anonymous questionnaire will ask for information regarding your age range, gender, perceptions of health and wellbeing, and engagement with the exhibition.
- At the end of the questionnaire, you will be invited to participate in a 30–60-minute phone interview with a researcher at a time suitable to you following your exhibition visit. The interview is entirely optional. The interview will explore your experiences and reflections on the works on display. The interview will be recorded and transcribed. You will be provided with an opportunity to review the transcript.
Are there any possible benefits from participation in this study?
- There are no direct benefits for individual participants. However, this study will advance our knowledge of how participating in creative arts activities can affect health, wellbeing, social connectedness, and the results may help shape recommendations for future events.
Are there any possible risks from participation in this study?
- There are no direct risks associated with this evaluation. There is a minimal foreseeable risk of emotional discomfort as we will be asking you about health and wellbeing.
What if I change my mind during or after the study?
- The survey is anonymous and once complete, you will be unable to withdraw your responses.
- You are free to withdraw without consequence at any time during or post the interview. After December 31st, 2021, your interview data will be included in the analysis, and it will not be possible to remove it because it will have been combined and non-identifiable.
What will happen to the data when this study is over?
- All data will be non-identifiable meaning it will not be possible to identify an individual’s contribution.
- Data will be stored on a University of Tasmania server for five years from the date of first publication. This server is password-protected and only accessible to the researchers of this study.
- Raw data will be destroyed at the end of five years from the first publication. However, for research purposes, we will seek approval from you to allow potential future use of de-identified raw data or metadata.
- The University of Tasmania will own all data from this evaluation
How will the results of the study be published?
- De-identifiable data from this study will be presented verbally, discussed, and be published in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and public talks

How can I agree to be involved?
- You can consent to participate by submitting the questionnaire. At the end of the questionnaire, you will be invited to leave your contact details so we can contact you to organise a convenient time for a phone interview.

By submitting this questionnaire I confirm that I have read and understood the information and in particular:
- I understand that my involvement in this evaluation will include completing a 9 question, 5-10 minute questionnaire, and I may choose to participate in a follow-up 30-60 phone interview.
- I understand that if I choose to participate in the interview, I will leave my contact details to be contacted for a phone interview.
- I understand that I will be offered the opportunity to review and make changes to my interview transcript and return these via email to the research team.
- I understand that the interview will be recorded and transcribed by a third party and that all data collected is de-identifiable.
- I understand that participation in the evaluation involves no direct risks.
- I understand that all study data will be securely stored on the researcher’s University of Tasmania premises.
- I agree that my study data can be used for this specific project and in future projects that are extensions of, or closely related to, this project
- I understand that raw data will be destroyed at the end of five years from the first publication. However, for research purposes, we would like approval to allow potential future use of de-identified raw data or metadata which is a description of the data and where it was collected and how.
- I agree to the retention of my de-identified raw data for further research purposes that are closely related to, the original project.
- I agree that the de-identified metadata (a description of the data and where it was collected and how) may be retained for the purposes of data sharing for future research projects that are extensions of, or closely related to, the original project.
- I understand that the results of the study will be published so that I cannot be identified as a participant
- I understand that the survey is anonymous and once complete, I will be unable to withdraw my responses.
- I understand that I am free to withdraw at any time from the interview, without explanation or penalty.
- I understand that after 31st December 2021 my interview data will be included in the analysis, and it will not be possible to withdraw my data.
- I understand that I will be offered to view an online catalogue of the exhibition and a summary of the results of the evaluation.
- Any questions that I have asked, have been answered to my satisfaction.
